O.C.T.G. Material Handling Systems was founded in 1972 by Richard "Dick" Sparks—a man of vision, grit, and relentless innovation. Raised in Idaho and proudly served in the United States Air Force, Mr. Sparks was stationed in West Texas, where he fell in love with the Lone Star State. He then chose to make Midland, Texas his home.
After his service, he started a business repairing pipe. That boots-on-the-ground experience led him to soon after, uncover a deeper need. Which was a safer, faster handling system that could keep pace with his production goals. Armed only with a pen and a napkin, he sketched his first pipe handling design—a solution that would challenge industry standards and launch a legacy.
